Was it unreasonable of me to think I could go at least 3 years/100,000 KM without having to worry about rust? When I spotted the rust last night I was ready to go trade the car in, I HATE RUST

issed: . I thought that GM would provide better warranty protection than this on a vehicle, but it's not looking good. They state "All body sheet-metal components are warranted against rust-through for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first)", but I doubt this qualifies as rust-through. I'm glad I noticed it before it got too bad, I'm gonna get it looked at by a body shop ASAP, but FFS, I bought the extended warranty so I could drive worry free for longer than this. Funny how a bunch of odd noises, leaks, and rust come about right around the 100,000 KM mark. Planned obsolescence doesn't sound like such a crazy theory after all...
Anyone else as fortunate as me?
