I have all of a sudden starting getting this growling type of noise from the area around the water pump/power steering pump.
I put new radiator hoses on and properly bled the system so I don't know if coincidently the noise started right after I did that or what. Anybody ever had a growling noise like a dry bearing kinda sound before and figured out what it was? Went by the dealer and they used one of those stethoscopes and said it could be either the power sterring pump or the water pump but was hard to tell since they are both on the same bracket. Wasn't ready to pay them a $78 diagnosis charge yet until I asked you guys what you thought. One friend of mine said to pour some limited slip additive in the power steering resevoir and if it was that, that the additive would shut it right up. Went to NAPA and bought some and added it but it didn't work immediately. May have to drive it around awhile to determine if that is what it is. Anybody? Thanks guys.
