FalconVFR is on a distinguished road
rear lateral rod bent, but why?

ok, so i guess im just curious, i know that my rear lateral bar is bent, but what worries me is why... i didnt hit anything with the tire (no damage on the rim or rubber), no curb checking or anything like that... i live here in denver, so there are some roads with potholes, but i always avoid the bigger ones (mainly so as not to damage the rims with lower profile tires and i also have the performance/sport suspension which makes everything rough to begin with)... what bothers me is why it bent down and out the way it did, and also the yellow-ish rust looking stuff on the bar... there's also little cracks where it bent... i realize that the cracks might just have happened because of the bending, but i guess im more worried that it could be a metal fatigue issue or something... ive been around cars all my life, and have never seen something act in this way... rust isnt normally an issue here, especially yellow like that... im going to replace the bar on tues when it gets in, (thanks btw to all those on here who gave advice on how to replace it)... and ill try to post more pics once its off... but has anyone else run across anything like this? (and btw the yellow stuff is only on that one area... i checked the other 3 rods and all clean)...
