2 gallons?!?! u should only need half a gallon of color if you're just shooting the outside. I'd still get a gallon to be on the safe side. but i only used a little over half a gallon and i did the whole car, jams and all. of course you still need clear, etc.

a half gallon is PLENTY... i did that eclipse with a half gallon... door jams too... i used a gallon of clear but it was for the whole car... if you are repainting your whole car i'd say a gallon... mabye an extra half gallon if you feel like you need it... dont forget you have to buy hardener for it too... painting is easy... clearing is a little tricky... like i said... do it on something else first to get the hang of it... you'll get it... i spent 300$ on paint, clear, and hardener... i picked my color out of a book and they just mixed the code... there should be a paint code on your car somewhere... prolly in the glovebox... so if you are just doing the kit pieces just give them your code and it should match right up... you should get by a little cheaper cause you shouldn't need so much of everything...
the acrylic enamel (base and clear in one) is cheaper to buy... it does look alright... i think poeople prefer the 2 step way becasue you can get a brighter finish... so that's recommended...

this is really tempting me to re-paint me car, my godfather has a body repair shop in his garage and he will let me use the tools and everything and even help me if i need advice, and all i would need is the paint, if only i could get the right paint code....

$1500?
They see you comming a mile away.
I see cars in Philly and they talk about it costing them about $1500 to $2000 to paint a Civic. Nothing speical, just a basic color, clear coat, etc.
$400 to repaint, and put in an extra cutout, in my rear bumper. and they had my car about 3 days.

I don't know who "we" is... i'd imagine your shop... of which i do not belong to... nor do i work at one... i'm referring to the type of paint i bought at the paint store... and the only paint i am familiar with... it worked for me... and yes it was easy... and i asked about the blending becasue i don't know how to do it... i didn't have to do it... and he shouldn't have to do it... so that's irrelevent. i'm just saying that i had no prior training in technique or anything and it came out dandy.

"we" is in refernce to us body fender/painters, and nothing is irrevlent it all makes sense
so you don`t know how to do something but yet you give advice on painting
that makes no sense

I forgot what brand it was but yes... it only cost me 300$ for a half gallon of 1997 corvette blue metallic, reducer, hardener, and a gallon of clear coat. I got it from the NAPA here in town...
