I am reconsidering and thinking White, with black writing or white with silver writing. Depending on how much it covers the engine and the spark plugs. I will decide If i am going to wireloom it a color or just black. We shall see. It depends on what it comes down to. I will surprise you all, with pictures probley in about a week. I need a nice day, and the parts to come in lol.

keep in mind that your spark plug wires are hidden by this cover.

^ I forgot that the sparkplug wires were covered by this cover...maybe I know why it is called a cover now

The only issue with white is that it may get pretty dirty being under the hood and all.

I am up in the air, and will need to decide on white or black.

Does anyone know where I can get black rubber cupplings for my Dr Speed CAI. See picture below, they are red now.

Well, you can always clean it, simple degreaser + a hose, plus I wouldn't think it'd get that dirty, lots of cars have covers that are light grey and they never look that bad, no worse than any other car

I put the cover on, which basically laid on top of my Upper intake manifold. Then screwed my cap in. U don't need an extender. I am not sure why u told me to buy it. Also. How did you secure your cover down. The only thing holding mine down now is the cap?

I put the extender on because when tightening down the cap it would have scratched the cover.. not that matter now.. but with after I paint it I'm sure it'll scrape it off.

As for holding it down.. near the assembly that attaches to your spark plug wires (don't know what it's called) there's a hook that attached to the back of the cover.

Snapped a quick pic with my cell. And yes, my engine is dirty

possibly this weekend or I'm gonna paint it green w/ silver (anyone think chorme would look like crap if it's doable?) text.

I'm thinking the same.. so my plan as it is now is to just mask off the silver text and paint the rest green.. Now on to another issue i might have.. I went down to advance auto earlier and they don't carry the color I need so I'm gonna be on a hunt for the right color. I just don't want to spend too much on this. Also would you guys recomend clear coat?

I assume you're trying to match your exterior color? How exact do you want to be? 'Cause you could obviously actually go and get it color matched but then you're looking at $$$

Clear coat can't hurt

Do you have to use automotive paint? Like high temp stuff to withstand the underhood temp?

Hey y'all. I've got a girl and her dad coming to take my car for a spin on Monday, and I just put one of these on my ride less than 4 days ago. If ya want, I can include the reciept from GM. ($45.00 shipped ) Mine's now gloss black, with metallic gold in the recessed part behind the 3400 SFI. My price: $40.00 shipped, and that includes the oil filler neck extension. I'll post a pic later today in the Bazaar section.
