^^But that wasn't the point that was made. The point was it CAN be done, but it would be expensive as crap.

Look at this way, if they were meant to be added to an alero, it wouldn't take tons of money, time and effort just to cross your fingers that they would turn out.

Ok heres the way it is, ANYTHING can be done to any car if you have the knowlege to do so. Its just a simple fact that Lambo doors have a bad history of not closing right due to changing the hingle style.
When you origionally have 2 hinges that swing horizontal and then you swap those out to 1 big hingle/shock arms and make it move in a vertical motion its gonna cause more stress and a door is lined up to perfection. So your most likely gonna be adjusting your doors constantly. On the expressway the doors will shake becasue of the way it latches in because coming into a latch on an angle is obviously not going to be as secure as your factory doors.
But regarless of the money involved its the workmanship that makes the difference.
When you start digging into bigger custom work your going to spend the money obviously unless you have people who are good at doing it. There is not going to be a bolt up kit for everything, becasue thats why its called custom work.

^ Yes, but if people didn't take that chance a lot of the mods we have now wouldn't have ever been created and wouldn't be available!!!!

But not all kits go just vertical. There are some that open like normal doors then swing up vertical. Thus allowing you to shut your door proper.

God, i already have the design. If only I had the funds.
But Si has a point. Don't do this mod to your daily driver. Constant use would just ruin it anyway due to lack of structual integrity

Thank you! I saw these on a Mustang at a Ford dealership, disliked em at first, but then they grew on me...can always trust a post from americangirl
--Edit--
The ones I see like that though, that "can still close OEM" you have to open like a regular door first, then they go vertical, and that's why they go out to the side so much.
