The company that I work for uses Nextel and in some of the mines we work in we don't get service. We have GPS in all of our company vehicles with the GPS mounted on the roof of the trucks. We can hold the phone up by the GPS and we get a signal. No clue how it works but when we have break downs its helps alot.
