well you can call it a day and just say GL
the 99's didn't have a 1, 2, 3... just GX, GL, GLS as far as I know.

I'm not sure on that one... I do know I have the sales brochures around here for most of the years..

Either way, GL1.

This may help, I am looking for the brocheres too, and when i get home if I can remember, I will pull the 99 and see if there is a breakdown of the GL

ok, according to the 99 brochere, the alero came in a GX1 GX2, GL1, GL2, and GLS. The window sticker may be the only way of determining which GL it is. the following are looked at when you figure trim code (of course I may be missing something) Fog Lights, Leather, Rims 15 or 16in high polished or plain, sunroof, spoiler, cd player
