carbonwerks.com will charge 1200 for the mold and materials, then 400 per hood. a group buy would get rid of the mold costs.... if 6 ppl bought, could be made for 600 a hood. and that covers all costs, only problem is who gets the mold?
that's not horribly expensive, but could probably be done cheaper.

You also gotta remember that we'd need to to throw Tru a little profit as insentive, not to mention S&H. He's not going to go through all that shipping and stuff just to be nice to a bunch of strangers.

What kind of luck is this. Someone on the forum actually bought the hood. Thank God!!! As said before I am already set-up to have the hood reproduced. Please get in touch with me if you would so we can work something out for you so you at least have a hood while this is being done. PLEASE PM ME ASAP. There is some work to be done to make this hood not need the hood pins. Having the actual hood to make the mold from makes this a much easier task. Please Pm me.

I'd buy one if it was paintable and used the stock mounting holes and latch. I just don't like the look of carbon fiber but I do like the cowl induction look.

I believe it's paintable...as for using the stock stuff...the hood attaches right on to the stock hinges and latch. The only thing is u have to change the stock hyrdolics that hold the hood up. The stock ones are about 1/2" to 1" too long to work with the cf hood. u can attach them, but then the hood cant close...i tired lol...*edit* i mean tried haha
i'll see if i can get a pic later today

If this gets going, I'd be in for a copy. I've still got my money laying around from the group buy that fell through last fall.

if you would have read his post you'd see that nobody is assuming anything. he bought it and realized that alot of people want it and is cool with trying to get it copied....

i did read the posts. you might want to re-read them. ppl saying "i'd be in for a copy" before he even says anything about letting someone use it to get copies made. poor guy.

well after re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reading all the posts.................one can come to this conclusion.............
Greg and Tru are working something out so he can get a mold of it.
People are letting whoever does get a mold made for copies, the interest that would be for the hood.
Tru is will to work with us and we appreciate it greatly.
Now enough of this bickering between each other over how some one interupts these posts.
Back on Topic.
Anymore useless post will be deleted............period.

Anyways, did you try adjusting the hood lifts? They twist so you can make them longer and shorter.
