^ ok.
That chrome lip is just stick-on poop from a long time ago that never got taken off. It's coming off eventually along with the Chevy sticker.

I noticed that. They line up, just not when they're on the car Stupid trunk lid.

Just a thought but try this
There are 2 little bumpers on the lid 1 on each side try & screw them in a little that might make the trunk lid go down more to line up the taillights.

I'll have to try adjusting those bumpers... Someone suggested adjusting the ones for the hood, too, a while back, but when I did, the front lined up and it made the middle of the hood rise above the fender.

i think it looks good from a distance, a lot of things on cars show imperfections up close, if you like em, keep em, it's your car, not theirs.....

Thanks. They look good at night, but there really isn't anything to carry the lines set from the chrome around the sides of the body.
I guess it's one of those 11th toe situations. I'll prolly just pull the chrome stripes off.

i agree that chrome alone looks good, as long as you have it somewhere else on your car. I'll be redoing mine this spring, we had such a cold winter that after 3 years of being on my car, the chrome tape actually cracked in some places. I had 1/4 inch spaced 1/8th inch apart, but the wider chrome tape had problems going around the corners and bubbled abit. I think I'll do 1/8inch chrome tape and 1/8 inch apart. Alittle more work but it should stick on the bends alot better. Anyone done 1/8th inch tape 1/8th inch apart that could post pics? I'm also thinking of running a strip around the outside of the light to cover all the ends, but i may just use silver vinyl tape over the edges because the vinyl curves SO much better.
I never thought that my how-to thread would get hit so many times, i'm glad to see this is a cheap mod that alot of people are choosing to try! And i haven't seen too many other cars with these stripes on either, its like an aleromod thing.
I was thinking of maybe putting the stripes on diagnolly next time, what do you guys think that would turn out like?

^ Your how-to came in really handy!
I thought about going diagonally, but I decided to leave it straight for the first try. I also think a stripe around the outside givess a nice, cean look, and I would do it if I were you.
I think it would look sweet if you stripe them how it looks in your avatar!

im giving you a neutral opinion, i dont really know what to make of it, i suggest you get some sort of SMZ symbol in there, not a huge one but like a little one, like you designed. i think that would look cool. if you still dont understand what i msaying look at the back of crazytaxi's car and where there are the olds symbols, yo ushould put your symbol.

Damn, that's a sweet idea! Since I ordered my gauges a few days ago, that would be cool. Thanks Alero. I tried to do a lil somethin at first, but it was turning into poop, so I just did straight stripes.
I bet if I move the stripes closer together a simple cutout would work... I will try this and post a pic in a day or so.

I like them, but there's nothing to carry your eye to the rest of the car, they just look a little out of place...... I'll figure something out.
And thanks for all yall's input!
Oh, and yeah...so much for AGT's picture... :P
