As far as I know and have been told, there is nothing else. The radio has constant power and the data bus wire that goes into it tell it when to turn itself on and off, so there is nothing that actually stops getting power once the RAP phase ends.

i really have no idea why your tooling around with the factory HU and RAP, rap does NOTHING but keep power flowin to your factory HU so you can have music for up to and including 10 minutes after your ignition turns off, and btw if you have a ton of bass in your system you will kill your battery and seriously stress your alternator. RAP=Retained Accessory Power. the BEST way to have sound without runnin your motor is all aftermarket stuff and 2 gelcel batteries and a 150 ampere alternator. kevin

Accually Kevin... having a Ton of bass has nothing to do with how much stress you put on your charging system... its the ammount of current that your amp consumes... the guy wants to keep RAP so that he can listen to his system for the 10 minutes after the car turns off... the 2 batts are a great idea.. but a 150 amp alt is useless if the motor is off...

Ok, looks like the amp is going to have to be wired to something non-RAP. I am planning on using some fuse in the fusebox, probably the sunroof fuse.

Before I go through with running the wire for this, I don't think the sunroof fuse is a soft turn on, which means THUMP! every time I turn the car on.

Does anyone know of something I can use as a remote turn on that uses a soft turn on (or maybe the sunroof is a soft on)...

if you use 2 batteries and set em up so one is responsible for startin your car and the other is responsible for playin your system you will always be able to start your ride and a 150 ampere alternator will charge your batteries alot faster then a 95 ampere

Sorry, I've been crazy busy and didn't have a chance to update.

I ended up just using the sunroof fuse and it works great. It's easy to get to, only took me about 5 minutes to get the wire run from the fuse and into the amp, and it on in ACC and off when the car is off.

I didn't get to keep the sub on durring RAP, which is ok, the only downside is that when I get my new speakers and amp those, they will shut off durring RAP too, but I'll live...
