ok good idea and its alreayd been done, mercedes and higher end cars have autotinting rearview mirrors. and they are expensive, to have that on a noarmal car on every window would about quadruple the price to replace a window.

Well, just speaking from the experience Jimmy's had with his glasses, I don't think it would be worth it. The tint responds so slowly that by the time it had tinted to the full level needed, your eyes would have adjusted. Also, I've noticed that the tint doesn't appear to gradiate like it should. As the light gets brighter, it doesn't respond right. It should gradually darken, but it doesn't.

Also, I'm surprised no one's mentioned the automatic tinting capability that KITT had.
