They are doing it exactly like the OSV, in the middle. They will not be doing any work on your exhaust.

this will a replica basically an exact of the OSV kit and after we get a bumper we are going to have tips made. but need bumper first.
if anyone has SLP, camaro style muffler, or C5 type mufflers the tips will need to be redone but that is it.

oh ok. my concern was since the exhaust is sticking out, i really dont mind if the cut it to make the kit fit. im gonna change the exhaust after i return anyways, im tired of how it sounds. and with a new born on the way, i think it'll scare the baby (specially if its asleep). it sounded nice at first, but now two years later, it sounds like crap.

I just got an email back from bodykits, the damage to Jose's car will not be an issue.
Unless someone closer to L.A. steps up with a donor car, it looks like his car will be down in L.A. on Feb 15th.

well, I don't have any exhaust issues since I have a 3" straight pipe that stops just before the rear crossmember....only issue I have is just getting my current performance project finished in time.
Oh yeah, may sound selfish, but I'm only in on the deal if the kit is free for me. I'm too far into it the other way to buy a kit on top of all the performance stuff I still have on the agenda.
But thanks for considering me anyways
oh yeah, is how much the car is raised/lowered a problem? I'm raised in the back and lowered in the front for traction/weight placement.

Your bodykit would be free. Waiting to see if spoiler would be free also.
Is your body fully stock? No mods no anything. It must be with stock bumpers or they will not work on the car. Your car being raised lowered shouldn't be a problem, but it would make things more difficult for them.
They said that the kit would probably be about 2" below stock height.

I still have the original body parts, easy to swap back on in about an hour tops.
No permanent body mods.
As far as the suspension, the front is lowered by clamps, rear is raised with spring-blocks. Both easy to remove, or lower the rear to match. Either way.

Once you would have everything back in place, when would be good for you to have your car in Corona CA.?
On a side note BJ: I will be in your neck of the woods in mid January, we should hook up. I'm there for a family re-union and am trying to get a half day to myself.

dunno, all depends on arrival date of the parts (no sooner than 5jan arrival), then how long it takes to get everything installed, then set up and tuned.
If you're in a big hurry and need it in January for certain, I'd get someone else on rapid standby status. Better yet, I'll try and be the stand-by and get someone else to commit to a date.
PM me with the dates you're going to be in "my neck of the woods" and where.

Just for grins I looked into what it would cost to transport a car via Intercity Lines which specializes in car transportation. Here is what they sent me this morning.
I knew it wouldn't be cheap but I almost crapped my drawers when I saw this.
And that is one way.

I'll take the whole package... I guess if there's some issue with it, that's why i have the purchase protection on my AMEX.

I just thought I would throw this out there.. I have another vehicle and I would possibly be willing to donate my alero for this. I have friends that live in Ventura that I havent seen since college. Might be worth the trip. Olds.. PM me when you get a chance.

Alrighty, it looks like we have the donor car set up now. Thanks to those who offered their vehicles on this group buy.
The donor car at this point will be StoopidAlero who lives in St. Louis area. The drive is 1600 miles from what I calculated, or 3200 round trip for those that lack the math skills.
He will have the car out in L.A. the 3rd week of January. I would ask every member that bought the full body kit to donate $50 towards his gas and food for the drive out their and back. If you want to give more that is fine because that is what I will be doing. We are doing this as a group and must share in the costs to get it done. I will work out the collection of the additional $$ for gas after Christmas. I will see if bodykits can collect the money and have the cash waiting for him in L.A., that way I don't have to touch anything. If not, I will handle it. On a side note, they normally want $675 for a group buy on a kit, we negotiated a $600 price so the extra $50 is not really that bad of an add-on.
I spoke with bodykits yesterday and they will handle the $$ collection for the kits and spoilers. So as Cliff stated it would be wise to use a credit card that has buyer protection. If there are any issues with anything, we've got our butts covered.
I ask that all involved in the buy PM me your shipping address and what you are ordering so I may verify info that bodykits is being given to make sure there are no mistakes in production or shipping. I will not be responsible for your mistake. For the guys in the Chicago area, they said we can save some money on shipping if it is to a business vs residence. We also could put 2 kits into 1 shipment for convenience and savings. In St. Louis, there are 2 guys. One is StoopidAlero and the other remains anonymous by choice. On the drive back, I thought StoopidAlero could throw his bodykit in the car and drive it back and deliver it or him pic up depending on how close they live. He would save on shipping and could throw some of it back to StoopidAlero for his troubles. Just a thought. Let me know what you think guys
If you have any questions post on the thread.
I can't believe were getting this done guys.
