External Trans Filter

I was talking to a guy I know who works in a transmission shop. Told him my trans is kind of slugish shifting, like its slipping more lately.

He told me that its due to crap clogging up the shifter valves. he suggested that I change the Trans fluid/Filter AND install an external transmission filter. He said you do this where the lines run into the radiator...

Has anyone ever heard of this? Done this? Have any part numbers or where to buy?

I thought the consensus was the flushes are not good, especially with more than 50K miles.

Just a fluid swap and filter change are in order. But according to him, adding the external filter will catch more crap and is easier to change...
