all leds not made alike
man its funny i am firm on the philosophy you get what u pay for yet i never pay attention to it. i ordered the cheapest leds on ebay i could find and damn things they are suppose to be all blue and they are but some are different variations of blue instead of all the same color i didnt know that was possible. ever happen to anyone else?

can't say i've ever had that problem... and i've ordered over a thousand from ebay.
the reds will all be varying degrees of red. the newest are REAL dark red, others i have look a little orange in comparison.
but i can't say i've ever seen varying degrees of blue. some are brighter then others, but its still the same color.

led's at radio shack? the bulb with two little wires stickin out of the back end.. I bought a few of those, think they were like- 67 cents a piece or somethin.. 37 cents.. hell I dont know. "pocket change" basically explains the price of one.

midgear, are you talking lamps, or leds? leds at radioshack (blue ones) run like 4.99 each! its insanity. (i think the company gets them IN for 69 cents each. customer cost is definitely over $3 per)
if you want some decent ones... order from www.oznium.com he only sells good stuff, and its guaranteed to be the same color.

I get mine from hong kong off ebay, and the first 200 I got looked like a nice normal blue, until i put the second batch of 200 next to them, a totally darker/nicer blue. made the first batch look like baby blue, even tho I ordered the exact same ones as before

if they all are from one package and look different thats just weird. i got all mine as cheap as posible from ebay. if they are from different packages they are probably just different brightnesses or are using different resistors.

I work at radioshack. Cost on led's to the store = nothing. Well close to it. They suck and none of them are bright at all.
Ebay - 100 leds for $20 shipped
Radioshack - 100 leds for $400 plus tax.
Do the math...

That is one of the highest profit percentages in our store! I laugh everytime someone buys one.
