performance?

So...does anyone talk about performance in here or is this now maintenance and repair?

Valley olds 06-03-2009 10:32 PM

Performance and mainteneance/troubleshooting. I think right now there's this thread here about a turbo build.

Caboose73 06-03-2009 10:32 PM

nvm i just saw you meant the 3400 guys

cherrington17 06-03-2009 10:32 PM

most of the 3400 performance people are overseas right now.

the rest of us are too busy keeping it running, rather then beefing the engine. we're definitely having a lul.

Nate's Alero 06-03-2009 10:36 PM

agreed, the 3400 is dying out... its not beefing them up, its keeping them from the graveyard

Valley olds 06-03-2009 10:37 PM

3 more for the 3400

Ok, I need an oversize crank pulley.

Aleromod.com > Performance Related > LA1 3400 Specific

This is the reason for my question.

so did you have a specific question on 3400 performance?

WhiteV6 06-04-2009 01:28 AM

nope.

wrestlingandrunning 06-04-2009 01:41 AM

well i have a 3400 in mine but i kinda stopped with performance after i realized most mods with major performance upgrades take up more fuel and my car is a dd so i got a 300zx to mess with

No, they don't necessarily "take up more fuel," they may need higher octane fuel..........and my car is a daily driver, too. It does help quite a bit to have a second car available, though.

I'm pretty sure if Ben has a question about performance and the 3400 none of us will know the answer. Ben knows the 3400 inside and out.

I think Ben was getting at why doesn't the 3400 section have a performance section.

Redog 06-04-2009 03:05 AM

I would love to talk more preformance on here, but they is only like 7 or 8 guys (myself included) that do actual performance mods to the car.

By the way, I spent about a half-hour reinstating pictures on a previous thread, and was going to continue it with new pics and discussion, but now the thread comes up blank:

http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20406

What's up with that?

Really? Well, that's good, I can't access it for some reason, I can see all the other threads.... I hate computers......

Redog 06-04-2009 08:56 AM

Ben's site (60degreev6.com) is a pretty good site. I learned a lot from that site, but sometimes the talk gets way too techanical for me and I just get lost.

I am going to start gathing parts soon. Can't right now though. The ecomony hurts. I'm not in debt, but I'm not saving any money either. The LIMG bill isn't helping this either :(

cherrington17 06-04-2009 09:09 AM

I think he was referring to the title being "3400 performance" yet the subforum is filled with maintance/repair questions NOT performance questions.

my only possible answer for that is... anyone who is seriously looking into it, knows to go to your forum, ben.

WhiteV6 06-04-2009 11:25 AM

This was the only section I cared about, but now its just maintenance and no one even cares.
