i changed mine before 100k. i had to actually, had misfires. i could fit the entire plug gauge in one of em, it was that worn.

El_Diablo 01-20-2007 09:02 PM

i would recomend closer to 30k miles if not 25k

shiny alero 01-20-2007 09:02 PM

what brand plugs did you use?

Redog 01-20-2007 09:09 PM

That's up to you, I have Bosch +4's in mine and it started to miss something horrible, I almost traded the car LOL

I now have the ACDelco rapid fires in the 'ho, those and regular ACDelcos are just about the same IMO. Some guys will say the NGKs are good. I never used them. The Bosch +2s can work in the 2.4 but IDK about the 2.2. I have those in the Delta right now.

I use NGK TR55 platinums, noticed a difference. Better starting/response. Work well.

bratch15 01-20-2007 11:01 PM

Do you really think you should change your plugs at 30k? When I start working for Bosch in the summer, I'll make sure I talk to the Engineers and I will come up with a new design for their spark plugs since I will be taking orders from the dumb engineers....lol. I say dumb now, but I will probably finish up my schooling and become one...

whiteliquid 01-21-2007 12:00 AM

MixtapeMessiah 01-21-2007 12:50 AM

just take a plug out and look at it, if its all effed up change em. Anything platinum or iridium are good. NGK's ftw tho

what's with all the fancy plugs? Running 15psi boost now @ 400+ hp, with AC Delco standards, two ranges colder than stock. waste of money for all that crap with neat names like "thermonuclear krypton" plugs. not being condescending, just stating that I really think you shouldn't waste your money feeding the marketing mongers. get what works, at a reasonable price.

exactly........

my motto..... as well as GM's motto when it comes to parts like plugs/wires/oil filter and such........ KEEP YOUR GM VECHICAL ALL GM, USE AC DELCO REPLACEMENT PARTS.

the car comes stock with ac delco plugs so why change what gm originally intended to be used in the motor

MixtapeMessiah 01-21-2007 04:14 AM

If your stock then by all means stay with the shitty stock plugs, but if your performance minded you wont mind payin extra for the good shit.

theres no difference except for wear for the most part, in fact some of the "high end" plugs produce less spark but last longer
