Heres another one. I have heard some bad things about doing business with them though.

cool Z-Spec is cheaper

is the benefit of the increased bore just better airflow?

Valley olds 06-15-2009 02:54 PM

Yup, just more air, especially if the intake manifold is ported.

AleroDrime 06-15-2009 04:42 PM

could you pm me and explain that a little more in depth

cherrington17 06-15-2009 04:51 PM

what more indepth do you need? air in = air out. Unless your air passage through the engine can't take any more air, due to room restraints. You port your intakes, you have more room for more air.

AleroDrime 06-15-2009 07:23 PM

dont worry about it, Valley was kind enough to explain it to me, im learning

seth.. 06-16-2009 01:16 AM

ive already picked up a ported intake manifold but i need to get a TB and CAI or WAI intake not sure which though.

colonel6632 06-16-2009 04:26 AM

ummm... i might be wrong... but here's what i've learned from reading the forums

for normal street driving... the WAI is what you want... very little chance of your engine sucking up water and other stuff...

and if your going to S.I.R. well add a couple more pipes and convert your WAI into a CAI.

That is probably best case scenario. I have a k&n drop in filter... but soon a WAI. If i got a ported manifold and a bigger throttle body... it probably wouldn't help much with a drop in filter.

Valley olds 06-16-2009 11:41 AM

WAI for a little more power and better fuel economy, CAI for more power than the WAI, but worse fuel economy. At least thats what Ive read in the forums.

seth.. 06-16-2009 06:11 PM

damn is there a way to have both haha. better fuel economy sounds good but so does more power

cherrington17 06-16-2009 06:45 PM

with the right tubing, you could convert one to the other, easily. (mount the CAI and leave it in the fender)

other then that, no, its not possible. Your car would always have a WAI if you installed both, simultaneously.

seth.. 06-16-2009 06:56 PM

damn haha oh well id probably just go with a WAI and make a custom heat sheild and figure out the best way to get the coldest air

Valley olds 06-16-2009 07:09 PM

Actually, this is the best place to get colder air.

AleroDrime 06-16-2009 08:10 PM

seth i left the piping from my stock air duct in as much as i could to direct the cold air it brings to my engine compartment towards the filter
