I lowered my car 1.5 inches all the way around with Sprint springs . I drive as careful as possible, but alas this winter my stock three piece air dame broke in all three pieces . Does anyone else have a problem with their front air dam after lowereing it? Should I remove it? Does it really do anything? Or should I replace it and trim it so it does not hang down as low?

I hit mine on a daily basis, haven't removed it yet. I hit it all the time before I lowered my car. Now, I also hit my front subframe when I go into driveways and other places with inclines.

Heck....It happens even if the car is not lowered. Cheap GM made junk like the rotors & pads, just run without the pieces as You will go bankrupt buying the parts all the time,

My car is lowered, and it drags every now and then. But it has never broken. I wouldn't want to remove it completely. Just trim it down an inch or so.

I busted mine off more than once in my 4x4 Alero. The parts are less than $30 each if you want to fix it yourself. If you want to get rid of it, just cut the plastic off. Don't unscrew the whole piece, it's definately holding the car together under there. And you'll lose fog lights if you get rid of the side pieces. Trust me. I don't know how much of a difference it makes when your car is lowered, but I could really tell when mine was gone at over 70mph it got really floaty.

^^?????
The purpose of the air dam is to draw cooler air up and over the radiator and into the engine.
