alero wiring..

hey.. i'm an idiot..
i cut off the stock wiring harness.. well i kind of wised up and put it back on.. but i dont know what wires are what when it comes to those 2 purple ones that are the exact same color. what do they do? are they important?
another thing is.. is that i have it wired up to where it doesnt come on with my ignition, it comes on with me hitting the button, or its always on (there is no ignition wire coming from the car.) how do i get it to do it right? do i need that 80 dollar thing from crutchfield?
this thing.. class II bus thingy???

Make sure you get you wiring hooked back up correctly. Also it is a good idea to get the harness from Crutchfield. It is a class 2 data connection. Your factory radio is wired thru the Class 2 Data Bus. Which means so are your Airbags, Doorlocks and any other function on that Data circuit.

You might have the purple wires backwards. I know for a fact that the Class 2 wire is purple.

run your own. You could tap into the orange wire at your ignition switch harness.
