Well, i think it wouldnt match the shape of the car itself. Theres nothin wrong with having this idea, it would just look nicer if you tinted them or left them alone.

No, i was going to buy a Honda and still keep my Alero, I wanted a new project to add to me and my friends car club. But i decided against it. But recently my dad called me up and told me he bought a 93 BMW. The only thing wrong with it is the tranny or the computer. It drives fine but then sometimes the tranny doesnt want to work, so you turn it off for a few minutes and then it works fine. I might by it and work on it, not sure though.

I've had ideas like this. If you want a completely new look to the taillights, like the Skyline lights you're talking about, the best way to so it is to make clear lenses for it, and then the inside part where the reflectors are, you'd need to make a completely different piece to put in behind the lens. I don't know what Skyline lights you like, but I was thinking R34 GTR lights. You'd have the stock shape but with a clear lens, and behind the lens you'd have a large circle on the outside and a smaller circle on the inside. I'd do them in LED's and I'd also put the turn signal inside the outside circle and the reverse light inside the inside circle...if you get what I'm saying.

I thought of this awhile ago and decided that it'd take more time than I wanted to invest and even then it may not look right.

No to the taillights. Just put red circle reflectors over painted tail lights

Look, who cares what you do to your car. Im not saying it will look good, but hey, dont care what other people think. Do something no one else does. If you like it, thats all that matters.

These lights are for a Maxima, and I'm not saying do them exactly like this, but this is the basic concept I'm talking about, with everything behind a clear lens. The only thing I would do is paint the chrome housing black and tint the clear lens:
Honestly, if you made lights like this and did a good job and didn't make them too gaudy, they probably wouldn't look absolutely terrible. You'd have to try it out and see I guess.

I'm with spilner on those last post's lights. It would look good on the Alero. If one pro photoshopper could try and fit something to the taillights.
I'd say change all the pattern of the existing tails. the two red circles should take all the room (even where there's the back up light and the corner light) then relocate those 2 lights somewhere in two small spots.

Something like this for instance (Ok its some paint crap but it kinda gives some idea about what I had in mind, you just gotta have some imagination haha)
