Single 12" Durabrand in my box = 140+ dB

It was noticeably louder than the Sound Storm we tested, which did a 140 flat.

But its not a pissing contest Just the facts.

I agree though for $100ish a sub its hard to beat the Type R if you looking for SPL over SQ. If you want both, look at that SQX. You wont be disappointed!

That's a nice number Ryan. What vehicle was it in? Box specs? Metering technique? Really curious

Anywho, Yeah, type r is more of a SQL sub, and they sound really good in the right install.

Was in a Jimmy with a mm4000.1 pumping into it

Term Lab

Bill Wolf of Wolf Pack Audio, Team Wolf Pack, Team Maxxsonics and Team Excessive Amperage (I may have forgot some of his other teams, lol) put my box/sub into his truck and did the metering. So as to the legality of the number, Im going to say its valid.

That was a 140.0 flat to... With a Sound Storm Slade, 12"... Of all subs- lol

And that Durabrand was louder, noticeably... With 175 WRMS running into it.

The box was a special design, something I cooked up. It lives again. The new monster residing in it however is a 12" Elevation Audio Pro. Im going to guess mid-upper 140's

And the $15 sub that absolutely killed my ears... And Ive heard a TON of systems since 1994...

Looks nice man! I like the loading chamber you integrated with it. Allot of people talk about how good "JL H/O" boxes are, when really its just a ported box with a loading chamber.

That was the exact premise to this box.

You can get super technical and look at it as a bandpass if you like, but the second chamber is out of range. Its about the loading at this point and coupling of the air.

It was a gamble, gave it a try and seemed to work decent. I mean come on, a Sound Storm Slade doing a 140? In a blazer?

I cant remember exactly how many WRMS we sent it, but we unloaded it below F3 and blew the piss out of it.

Tuned to 40 Hz

So it was peaking around 47Hz I believe.

Yup almost 6dB peak @ 47Hz!
