My setup (car audio guys feedback requested!)

OK, overhauling the high-mileage ho has been a lengthy ordeal, largely because of my schedule, but it's coming along. The engine is all back together, soon to be fired up again. But first I have to change the leaky heater core, which has required taking half the interior out. This lead to taking ALL of the interior out for my neutral leather to gray cloth swap. I have mastered the art of going off on tangents. Can you tell yet that I'm mildly ADD? All the suspension parts, headers, etc. in my living room will attest to that.

So this leads to the point of my post. With the interior gutted, now seems to be as good a time as any to, at the very least, run the wires for the system I'll put in later as time allows. I have the bulk of this stuff already. I think the only thing I don't have is a LOC and a distribution block, as I'm planning on keeping the stock HU for the time being. In any case, I'd like to get some input on the overall system setup, particularly the gauge of all the wires (power, ground, speaker wires) that I should use. I already know about, and plan to do, the big 3 upgrade. I'm more unsure about the gauge of wire to run to the distribution block, from the distribution block to the amps, and the gauge of speaker wire for the various speakers. So, here we go....

Stock HU through an LOC to a Kicker KX-3 Crossover. From there, front and rear channels go to a RF P4004 amp (100 RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm) which will powe Infinity Kappa 693.7i 6x9's in the rear (110 RMS, 2 ohm) and Infinity Kappa 462.7cfp 4x6 plates in the front (60 RMS, 2 ohm) with Infinity Kappa 10.7t tweets in the factory tweet location (50 RMS, 2 ohm). The 10.7t tweets come with crossovers. Also, the Sub channel from the KX-3 will run to a RF P6002 amp (300 RMS x 2 @ 2 ohm). This will feed a pair of Alpine SWS-1242D dual voice coil 12" subs, configured for 2 ohm.

Thanks Ryan. What about wire sizing from the amps to the speakers? Should I look for something in particular or is it not that important?

I'm running 10ga for the subs, and for running smaller speakers I would use like 16ga, and maybe up to 14ga.

I wouldnt use anything less than 16 Ga for the speakers. I tend to run 14 to all speakers under 200 WRMS. Over that I use 12 Ga.

If the subs over 400 WRMS I use 10 ga power or 8.

some stinger 12ga will do your Infinity Kappa 693.7i 6x9's fine.
as for the sub i'de use a high strand/current 10ga., again Stinger.

don't skimp on the wire, really you can't go too big, im just suggesting these if your going to a decent look and nothing too bulky.

i had 0ga. for my 1800W rms setup in my stang. it was a huge improvment over 4ga.
