Help with Kenwood head unit

I just purchased a brand new Kenwood KDC-X 792 head unit and harness. I am getting constant power but no switch power. I jumped the constant power to the switch power and the radio worked fine but there was no power to the switched power. any help would be appriciated.

Check the fuses for the wire you are using for switched power and if thats ok make sure the wire you are using for switched power really is switched, and at 12volts.

na.. the harness had a second orange wire that has power when acc. is turned on!!
easy fix this time!

haha illumination wire?? oh god...

no its not the illumination wire that i caped off! the wire is orange with a red stripe.
(idk) but when i turn the key just to acc. the wire gets power!

ok traced the wire it goes to the ignition harness haha!!! i guess they taped it with the old sony that was in it!!!!
