am i missing something
i just got new 17s from a friend for pretty cheap, they have decent tires on them and are in overall good condition...the bolt pattern is 114.3 and the offset is +40 so i knew they would fit...but it seems like when i go around turns or when i hit a bump they wobble...all the lugs are tight as i could get them so i know the wheel isnt loose...i guess it could just be me since they are new and i try to pay as much attention to how my car is handling with them...but im almost positive its not that
my questions
-should i get it aligned? i just had it done last summer and i dont think different rims would make a difference...but im no expert haha
-could it be the uneven wear on the tires? it looks like the guy that had them before me had some problems with uneven wear
-should i just let it go?
afterthought: i noticed that with my stock wheels they went up snug to the spindle...if thats what its called...idk the big thing in the middle of the hub that looks like something could screw onto it...but with these new wheels there is quite a bit of play since the middle is just a hair bigger
helps appreciated

so the wheels don't snug all the way up because your center bore on your new rims aren't big enough? sounds like you need hubcentric centering rings.....

Alright...new question...views on plastic vs aluminum...
I like plastic bc they are cheaper...but idk how long they will last...it's only plastic and one would think they might crack after awhile...aluminum I shouldn't have to worry about right?...

Id grab aluminium, of course if plastic is cheaper, but you have to buy 2-3 sets in the life time of aluminium ones, I think it equals itself.

You don't really want to tighten them as tight as you can. Kinda the reason you don't usually use an air gun to put on lugs... well you do but you don't make them tight. Also you should put them on/tighten them in a star pattern. I belive you want 80lbs on them.
If you overtighten them you're a lot more likely to snap the bolts. Course it might never happen to you. That's why they call it recomended.

Anyone thrown out the 25-30 mile rule yet? When you put new wheels on a car, it has to "adjust", after 25-30 miles you should check the lugs again because they can loosen up.. and you can lose a wheel!
