Michigan has the $0.10 deposits on all bottles/cans/etc. like a lot of FAR LEFT COMMY states. So, the cheapo's will buy it out of state to save $0.60 on a 6 pack.

Well that is great, you can help Oldsman cook. I am buying a new portable grill for this year. Not the fire and ice grill as years pass. We normally take care of the cookout, however if there is anything special you guys want you will have to bring it. For example: desserts, I don't normally do that.
Normally: Burger, Hot dogs, Brats, Chips, this year I will be making a fruit salad as well.
Can't wait to see you all in June!

Transporting booze across state lines is only illegal if you are going to sell it, and I'm pretty sure that's the hard stuff too.
Hell you can get beer at Walmart out there In PA Beer and liquor are not sold in the same stores, it's illegal.
Liquor stores are owned by the Commonwealth, beer stores are not

I'd rather not take the risk. I travel as little distance as possible w/ booze. Getting a pissy cop might cost me my license down the line. So I'll play it safe.

i still want to drink it when i'm there!

No booze in the cab, all in the trunk and you'll be fine
