Recommended box size for Alpine Type R

I have one 12" DVC 4 ohm Type R sub being pushed by an Alpine MRP-M1000 amp. I listen to rap and currently have a prefabbed chambered box but want a box that is properly tuned for this sub. I have done the Big 3 and installed an Optima Yellow Top battery that has fixed my light dimming problem Any thoughts on some box specs as well as wiring the sub up for better bass response would be greatly appreciated. link for the sub http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-1243d/Specs

what he wants is way more specific than what the owner's manual will give him, he wants a custom tuned box...tuning is going to vary based on the power he's pushing through it, so really those owners manual dimensions really won't do anything for him, wait for Cashdollar or Ryan to get in here...some one who really knows what they are talking about

those are not from the manual they are from my friend who installs car audio for a job and he went to school for it. Also that amp is perfect for the sub because a 4 ohms the amp pushes out 600 watts rms and that is the most that sub can take.

Type R's have been proven to handle 1000 watts plus and do well in large box's with a lot of port area. Since the sub is dual 4 ohm coil, the amp will be seeing a 2 ohm load and will be putting out 1000 watts rms.
