Yup yup, you're not alone. It's the blower motor resistor. Less than $20 from your friendly local Olds dealer (or Pontiac if Olds is bye-bye). You'll find instructions on here how to replace it, it's not hard, just uncomfortable. You'll have to get under the dash on the passenger side.

YOU NEED A BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR. iT LOOKS LIKE A CIRCUIT BOARD AND GOES UNDER THE PASS. SIDE DASH IN THE AIR DUCTS. ABOUT $30 AT YOUR DEALER.

Mine actually only works on high. Pretty damn annoying. I'll fix it one of these days.

yeah , mine did that to me too. I fixed it,but it was a real pain in the butt.
The part was cheap and I installed the new one in about an hour or two.
It goes under the panel in the passengers side, ALL the way back to the firewall. you need a screw driver for the little screws that hold the plastic panel, then you have to pt your head where your feet go , basicaly you sit upside down and reach all the up to the firewall. it looks like a little green plug. You need to remove this with an elbow adapter because the 2nd screw is hard to reach with a straight one, then just slide the new one in , and it should work.
Don't bother going to a mech. for 30 bucs an hour when you can do it in your driveway on afternoon.
