Have any of you guys had the problem of the abs and traction control turning off by it self? When this happens, the service light comes on too. I have just had my rotors machined for the second time and the problem went away for a week or so. Now almost evey time I drive the car those lights will come one and those functions will turn off. Man I'm so sick of the problems with this car, I could puke. 40k and I have had my catalitic converter die, windows fall off the tracks, rotors machined twice, keyless entry remote die, I even had to return a 4000 dallor dvd 5.1 suround system because the car kept turning it off.

same thing happened to me. it's the speed sensor in one of your front hubs. the entire hub will need to be replaced.

How hard is it to replace this hub? My GF's alero is doing the exact same thing.... very annoying. Is an indy shop going to rape me for the labor/parts for this? Is it an easy DIY project??

Any tips or pointers on what's involved would be great

a dealer will rip you off pretty bad. try to do it yourself. you'll need to have a code read-out to figure out which hub you need to have replaced. and then don't forget to clear the codes so it doesn't get confused and think the new one is bad too.

She took it to AutoZone and they said there were no codes registered.

Any ideas what this could mean?
