i want 2 bridge my amp

im runnin 2 memphis 10s with a sony explode amp 1200w, 500rms unbridged. now im thinkin about bridging the amp 2 see how much power i will get but i read around that bridging can blow the amp...so i mean should i or should i not?

Whats the model number?

Are you sure its not a mono amp? If it is, you cant bridge it. You can drop your impedance by varying the Ohm load, but thats done with your subs wiring.

Need sub info also. Memphis makes a few 10" subs, and Sony has made many 1200 amps...

x2...i also have a goth series power acoustik amp, and ive got it hooked up to a couple 800watt/400rms Kicker CompCVR's and i think ive blown one of the subs from the amp having too much power...despite it being matched up perfectly power rating wise (720watt rms/1channel @ 4 ohms) i really believe they are underrated

ha ha ha. i got it from best buy 3 years ago...didnt kno 2 much about radios and sounds back then...so i just grabbed it becuz it came with 2 10in duals((threw them away since they were flooded out))

ya bridge it. wire to 2 ohms each(parallel)(pos to pos, neg to neg), then wire the 2 teminals on the box in series(pos to neg on the box).
