How Do U Take Good Pictures?

all my pictures turn out like crap, is there some secret? is there A TUTORIAL ?!!??! lol srsly tho all these pics PWN mine mine just suck, do you take like 10334635 pictures and hope u get a gooder, or is it just naturally being good picture taker, or is there some secret im missing

# Please get the car out of your driveway, unless of course you have a long scenic driveway. The background and setting are important. Not that we want the background to stand out, but if you have a picture of your nice car sitting in front of a wrecked '62 Ford Falcon with a dumpster behind it, these can be distractions.
# Lighting is extremely important. Try taking the picture at sunrise when the lighting is softest. If sunrise doesn't work, try sunset. The middle of the day with bright sunlight is not a good time to photograph due to harsh reflections and shadows.
# Be unique. Try something new like a good action shot or different angle or setting. Take a look at Weeks 187 and 175 of the Grand Prix of the Week archives. These are very good quality shots of cars in motion. Week 200 is a great night shot. Week 41 made it for obvious reasons. Week 153 had a unique perspective. Week 38 is a Grand Prix in action as is Month 41 of the Grand Am archives. These pictures not only made it because of the quality of the picture but also because of the uniqueness of the shot.

I like the "use a different angle" approach. Try putting the camera near the ground, etc...

try a tripod too...if you're like me, you might be shaky and pics come out blurry...and i'm like eag too...i like different angled shots

just have fun with it, and practice makes perfect

Yea, i think a tripod would help me more, b/c my pics come out blurry alot. Also, as far as the lighting goes not sure what kind of camera you have but check to see if it has different settings like, low light, night, action etc.

If you're talking digital, make sure you have a good camera. Until a few weeks ago I had an ancient Kodak. It took very blurry pictures unless I kept a real steady hand, because the shutter speed is very slow on old digitals. We just picked up a Panasonic Lumix with all of it's autofocus magic and image stabilization, and it takes wonderful pictures, even in the wind.

k thx, yeah i use a digital camera, yeah i took all the pics in the middle of the day and in my driveway, and yeah all the angles were retarded... ill try some new stuff once i put my rims and kit back on but for now im stock because i live in canada saskatchewan and the roads here in winter (and summer) are horrible and id rip my body kit off

First Rule, dont ever take it straight on. if youre looking for an actual photographer picture style, take it from a long distance away, depending on zoom and MPs you have on the camera will determine how far to stand away. Second dont have the wheels straight, if you turn them it adds more depth to the shot, unless the background shows depth already, ie: a long straight road, if the road curved turn them. and three i would say is the lighting. Its crutial when photographing. Flash no flash fill in flash, all depending on what the sky is. I have pictures of my car in pitch black streets that you can see the whole car with out, and inside neons on. If you play with the flash and lens opening times you can get your pictures to blur fade, or freeze if theyre moving, its all in how many pictues you take and how devoted you are to wanting to take one. With a digital you can delete them, so why not take 25 pictures to get one your looking for? Just look at the past AOTMs youll see whats hot and whats not
