i've seen a few people on here with the center console custom fiberglassed...

i've wondered how you did that...

i know the process for fiberglassing in general, but how do you get all the specific control locations correct, as well as have it shaped properly to get it to fit in the right spot? not to mention, how is it even held in the right spot, the one on the car has clips that hold it in, how do you do that on the new custom one??

...but... my 100th topic!

no one here has a center console fiberglassed (the thing with the armrest/cupholer, btw the 2 seats, etc). Mostly they done is sand it down smooth and paint it. (that is what my console is, just sanded out all the factory texture and painted) Silent was making his smoothed out but it wasn't total fiberglass.

Unless your talking bout the radio trim/ac control thingy. Then ya a few/couple of people have fiberglassed those.

Correct me if i'm wrong, I just woke up at noon. LOL

i did mine a bit different than most, i cut off the cubby part then used the extra plastic from that and plastic welded it all together. then i used plastic filler and repair poop made by 3M(same stuff i used to mold the razzi to the stock and stock to fenders). i never quite finished mine though, but it's going toward a new cause, and will be revealed later this year....maybe. lol

I went to the wreckers and got a 2nd one incase I screwed it up. I then cut the whole where the stere opening was and made it bigger to make room for the screen.glued it in place and fiberglassed all around it and sanded the hell out of it. then used body filler to make it nice and smooth. I relocated the temperate dials lower to make room for the new opening for the stereo. and basically did the same thing, glued in place filled and so. Hope this helps

Heres mine. What I did is took my console and cut down from the opening to just above the HVAC controls straight across and up then i used oyasis foam (the green foam that comes with a bunch of flowers) and cut it to the shape i wanted then laid fiberglass over that then pulled the foam out from behind the glass and glued it to the console and used more glass and filler to fill in any gaps and smooth it off (still not done it looks pretty rough).

Hope this helps a little.
