alright, so my rents are on my ass HARD about getting my LIM fixed...my dad saw that I started getting a mix in the oil, and said I need to get it done immediately. thing is, I wanted to get my car 'upgraded' with donkey punch and go get the new stuff installed at their garage, but I am afraid I'm not gonna be able to drive my car to see germ, who is about 5 hours away from where I live. is it possible I can do a quick-fix on this problem (like get an oil change) and drive for 5 hours to get it fixed w/o any problems??? I really want to get the UIM LIM and TB combo from germ plus he does a great rate on install compared to everyone around me (650 for LIM replacement.)

you can go for as long as you can keep both those fluids clean.

flushing coolant and changing oil is key.

if yo ucan afford to do that alot then you can hold out much longer.

Alero's comment is right on the mark, but like Turbo said, don't "drag your heels", either. When mine started to go, I went about a month, changing the oil every 200 miles or so, and topping off the coolant when need-be. ( In my case, the coolant was getting into the oil, but no oil was getting into the coolant system. Therefore, coolant flushing wasn't needed.)

Your car must be fast, you were haulin' ass when I passed you in my 4-door Buick.

i wouldnt worry about flushing the coolant, in fact, i'd recommend AGAINST it, esp if there is no oil in it(which usually is the case). Just do an oil change RIGHT before you leave. and you should be OK, you'll want to bring some extra coolant with you just in case you need to add some on the way, but hopefully you wont have to do that. i will say it is bad for your car doing this though, although depending on the parts you change out, it may not really matter.
