figured this out so far
-L front Light Green +, Dark Green -
-R Front Pink +, Grey -
-L Rear Yellow +, Light black -
-R Rear Light Blue +, Dark Blue -

and I'm thinking
The thick orange wire is - -Terminal Switch always supplied with Power regardless of ignition switch position.

and the ground is the Thick black one

Notes:
Note: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. *1 Remove the radio, without unplugging it, to access the ignition harness. *2 Lock requires a negative trigger, and unlock requires a negative trigger through a 1,500 ohm resistor. Must use relays. Must close doors to lock with a single pulse. *3 Requires a high current ground. Use a relay. *4 The lt. green/black is located in the drivers kick and catches only the drivers door. The lt. blue is located in the harness coming from the drivers running board going under the drivers seat and it catches all other doors. Use both door trigger wires and diode isolate each. On the 2 door the lt.blue is in the passenger kick. *5 The ECM is located under the left side of the dash to the left of the column.

yea, unless the car is old, and the harness is already raped, its worth the money.....especially if u wanna sell the car and keep ur headunit and put the stock back in

there is NO switched ingnition wire in the harness....you will have to run your own to either the ignition harness (proper way to do it) or to the fuse box (easier, lazy way to do it)

yes...the 99-00 uses the GM 32pin harness (dark blue colored)....the 01+ uses the new style "Tracker/Prism" harness....they ARE different

another thing to worry about is the Class 2 System. either you have it or you don't. I feel mass pity for this person should they have it and they dont know because all their warning chimes will be gone for sure. bottom line, listen for the warning chimes and figure out where they are emanating from. should they be coming from the dash, then your good to go. if they are coming from your driver's side door speaker, then you have the Class 2 Databus and axing your HU will cause loss of ALL warning chimes. My Alero: 01 GL coupe with factory Sun and Sound package and had the Class 2 databus. My system is powered by Alpine and i have all my warning chimes thanks to the GMRC-01 wiring harness!

oooh no....no more chimes! what will I do?! So what....there's no way in hell I'd pay $120 for the door chime interface for that....big deal...you have AUTOMATIC headlights so you cant leave those on...and you have auto door locks so you cant lock your keys in your car.....so wtf do u need chimes for?!

Sorry, old thread.... but I had to hop in to find out for sure... I was one of the first to "experiment" on the 2000 J-body to find out that the airbags weren't controlled by the factory radio... just the door chimes.

You say N-body cars are the same... but I've been told by several people that the air pressure monitor is in the deck (this I doubt) and the oil life sensor is reset using the radio (this I know for a fact... I've done it... but it was a W-body).

So... truth to this? Or just myth, like the airbags and everything else..?

uhhh, in my 99 the oil life reset was the reset button in the drivers side fuse panel.

I suspect, if anything, it would be the 2001+ N-body.... since the 2000 doesn't seem to have the Class 2 wiring like the 2000 J-body did.

99 definitely would not have it. There is no Body Control module...

anyways.. no current thru the drk grn wire when ignition in the acc position.. all fuses are good.. anyone know why this is? no current in any ignition position.. acc.. on.. or started

Nope, that's where the radio supplies the power to turn on the power antenna (antenna amplifier in our case)
