I was talking with my friend the other day, and he said that there is a "shift kit" that I can install in an automatic engine....... is this true or is he just B.S.in me. If it is true, what are the different ones that are made for the 01 2.4L?

I have the B&M shift plus and it works well. It's got 2 settings street and strip and it is only like $60 shipped from Jegs. Check the 2.4 forum for more info.

Interestingly, I have two for sale, $40 shipped each. Both pre-owned, one has shorter wires for tacking in under dash, the other has longer wire for either under dash or at the tranny. Mine is tacked in at the PCM.

It's a decent toy, yeah, but does it make 1/4 mile times faster? Dunno... but it's alot more fun to drive, I know that much.

yeah, actually it does. Marginally, but it does.
Idea is, reduced transfer time on shifts by increasing the line pressures and RPM shift, so it gets rid of that smooth "butter" shift and hits the clutches harder and faster. Expect to shave maybe one or two tenths off at most, without other modifications.
