as it says, i need to know the paint code for my white '99 alero. the sticker that it would be on under the spare tire cover is no longer there on mine, so i cannot find it on my car. if somebody else could find it on their's, i'd appreciate it.

Take your VIN to a body shop or dealer, they should be able to look it up somehow. At least, I gave overdrive my VIN and he gave me painted splashguards that perfectly matched my car.

Would it be worth the effort to collect the paint codes for all of the Alero factory colors and put them in a FAQ here? I think there have only been about 12 colors over the years.

more than 12, but it has to be close. (I know there were at least 3 shades of blue)

This is sorta on topic here... but which one of those freaking code numbers is the paint colour? I've looked at the sticker on the underside of the spare cover, but can't make heads or tails of which number is which....

I might just be being an idiot, but it'd got me puzzled.

Look from the outside at your front window and it is in the bottom corner of the drivers side. It is a serial number, bring it to a GM dealer and they will know it!

They match the paint from the VIN# go to any GM dealer and they will ask for that number!
