i'm not really sure if this is good or not. the other week when i took my alero down to American TV and Furniture to have them pull out one of my faulty Type X components i blew(which got shipped to alpine for replacement) they noticed something weird going on with the Voltage on my Alpine MRV-F345 amp. i yanked out my monoblock amp and my Type S sub and sold the kit off to a coworker so i dont have subs anymore. so right now im running 3\4s of my Type X Components, my Boston 6x9s the afformentioned MRV-F345 and my Alpine CDA-9825 and KCA-420i interface for my ipod. the long and short of this story is, when i crank my system up with my car running my voltage running to my MRV-F345 will drop down and then come back up as the bass hits in my car. it seems to run down from 13.9 Volts all the way to ive seen a 12.8 Voltage register on that MRV-F345. no other speakers are distorting at all and the faulty component has been yanked and sent to alpine for replacement so i know its not from a sub or anything beating too hard on my system. with the car all the way off ive noticed that when i crank it up loud it will sometimes go all the way down to 11.8 volts. the last time i had the alternator checked it was putting out 48 amperes and im planning on doing a major time system to replace the small time setup i had running so i know im going to have to replace my alternator sooner or later. you think maybe my alternator could have a shot solanoid in it right now and be on the fritz or maybe its my battery? HELP PLEASE!

thats typical....you cant expect the system to maintain constant voltage when your sound system is requiring all that power for those "HITS" eventually if your running powerful enough system it will kill the battery or alternator, just depends how much power and how often you go full power or max volume on the system (ie if you just crank it up for a few minutes once a day then it will last way longer than driving for an hour with it cranked all the way up, cause the alternator and battery can recover from a couple minutes, but an hour can drain a battery)

the thing is....i dont even have a sub anymore so why is it dropping on voltage by one whole Volt according to the amp...its doing this while i play Mudvayne....i watched once when i played Eminem and it got a lil worse even

its because those other components you have in the car take more power than the stockers that use to be in there....those stockers took literally no power at all, compared to what you have in there now, I know I have the same problem with my system (just two subs and a 1600 watt amp) because the lights dim bad when they hit, but i dont run em for long at high power, i usually have em running on -6 gain which is the lowest my radio goes, and i still get a good thump....its all a matter of just how much power those components run constantly.

i know my MRV-F345 amp cant be trying to suck 2 much power out of 2 little wire cuz i have right now a Scosche 2 amp install kit that splits 1 4 guage wire off into 2 but the one wire is just taped off cuz there isnt anything for the thing to power cuz i sold that shieet off. the amp kit is good for 1400 watts of max amp juice and certainly the MRV-F345 cant be more then a 500 or 600 watt max amp?
