Pcv Replacement?

I'm going to be doing this on the Delta, but can it be done to the Alero with ease?

I want to pull out the PCV and replace it with a breather filter.

I want to know if it can be done but it also will have to be switched back before inspection and what not.

I was looking at RSM's website and saw it done to an Ecotec. It's on the front page of thier downloadable brochue.

Would it bring on any SES lights? Impare the drivablly of the car? Hurt the motor? :hide:

the Ecotec doesn't have a PCV Valve like the V6, Unfortunately the design of the rear PCV tube on the 3400 wouldn't lend it self to installing a breather filter on it too easily.

Yeah I kinda figured that, The front is easy to get to, but I've never seen the rear.

That would explain the breater on the Eco motor I guess. It wasn't from a PCV

breather could fit on the alero, but i don't think it'd do much at all

The tube from the rear is what goes into the intake tube.

There is PCV in the Ecotec, just not a valve for it (probably a regulated port)

i did it Ken. i just got a plug on my intake pipe to plug up the PCV port. then i disconnected the rear PCV hose, cut it off all the way down to the elbow (botom) and then i took a 11mm fuel line hose, that bens like rubber, and i clamped it on that and ran the breather up to my coil pack on the left side, to get it away from the EGR.

it probably didnt matter but i like to think it did something.
