Ok heres the story. My boyfriend Britt (you may of may not know of him) wants to put the new 5.3 liter out of the new monte and impala into my car. He said it will fit he will pay for it and install it for me. Sounds like a cool thing right since I don't think its been done yet. Will it fit? or is this just another dream being crushed by size. If anyone has an idea let me know. Thanks.

if he can get the whole drivetrain from one of those buggers, go for it!
BTW: I know somebody that has a S2000 and raced one of those 5.3 Impalas...the Chevy smoked him.

I'd have to pay him back but its something to tinker with while he waits on parts for the skyline motor hes working on.

just ask paul to measure the distance between his strut towers, then compare to the Alero's measurement.

It might fit, with time and money. Tons of extra bracing would be needed to hold that motor.

ok i checked. lol im watching hells kitchen. anyway its 47 inches from the top strut bolt to strut bolt. i think it will fit cuz if a 3800 fits in an alero and w body, then the 5.3 will too. best of luck!

Shoehorning it in is the easy part (and it's not an easy fit).....Britt better have an Electrical Engineering degree to wire the thing though.
