See my post under East Coast regional thread. In summary: Huge 2-day Sport Compact race at NJ's Raceway Park. I'm racing tomorrow in the B1 (15.00 seconds and slower) class and want to borrow someone's car for the B2 (13.00-14.99 seconds) or B3 (12.99 or quicker) classes. $45 to race (I'll pay for tech ticket) and $500 to win / $200 R/U / $50 Semis (I'd split winnings 50/50 with car owner).
Car needs to be automatic transmission because:
a) I haven't driven a stick in about 10 years
b) Auto trans cars are ALOT more consistent than sticks, and consistency is king in ET bracket racing
All of the heavy hitters from my track run the B1 class because none of us has a quick enough car that qualifies as a "Sport Compact" or "Import" for B2 or B3. The racers in those other classes pretty much suck at racing so a regular points racer like myself shouldn't have any problems making quick easy money.
Time shots begin @ 9:45am and 1st round eliminations at 2pm.
For more info, please see other thread.

Too bad nobody wanted to help a brother out. Could have made some good cash yesterday. As it was, all 6 heavy hitters (myself included) were all in the slower B1 class (15.00 seconds and slower) and nobody of anynote was in B2 or B3. Plus the heads-up Street Tire and Street Stock classes had even bigger payouts and less risk. A 12-second car could easily have won in either of those classes and it was $1,000 to win with only 8 cars qualifying on a ladder. Beat 1 car and you just won at least $100 against a $45 entry fee!!!!
As for B1, it was an interesting day.
FIRST ROUND - I cut a .002 light and easily won. The other guy ran 15.502 on a 15.50 dial but had a .333 light so home he went.
SECOND ROUND - I was supposed to have the bye run as lowest winning RT from the previous round but they ejected one of the racers and then paired me up with the final car to even things out. I cut a .012 and took him out without issue.
THIRD ROUND - Finally got my bye run. Car ran noticeably slower in the heat and crappy weather and track conditions so that freebie was good.
FOURTH ROUND - There's now only 3 of us hitters left in a field of 5 cars - Jack, Ryan, and me (same trio as last time) - plus, Ryan's wife and some other guy who the others seemed to all know. Guy seemed pretty cool. There's a ladder (finally) for this round and I get paired with Jack again. At the last import race I had Jack in the semis and sent him home with a .027 light. This time, I lost the coin flip and got sent to the left lane after having run right lane most of the day. Not a big deal. But someting happened to the car. Maybe the heat got to it or I launched too high on the motor but the car fell way off. I had a crappy reaction time (.1xx) and the ET was way off. Lost almost 4 mph, too, top end. My only thought is it "bogged" at launch. Didn't feel it spin but I think it hesitated (the fuel injection version of bog). Needless to say I lost. And 1 round shy of money, too. CRAP!
The light still would have been enough to win in any other category (or against my earlier foes), but against another hitter you don't have that luxury.

He called me.
I was for the idea, but the Redog ran 14.98 once at englishtown, and it was 60 degrees that day. It wasn't going to run that in the heat and humidity on Sunday, plus the car didn't have a fan belt until about 1:30 Sunday afternoon, plus with route 29 in Trenton being flooded, it would have taken me a lot longer to get there.
Anyway, how'd you do?

How'd I do? You, son, need a power adder AND a new set of glasses, Mr. Gloss-over-the-thread. Look 5 posts above this one and find out.
