Prices?

I was thinking of getting an AMP, speakers, and woofers. Anyone know the rough estimate of the price for a decent system? I'm a rookie when it comes to cars. I say I can spend more than less than ~1 grand. Don't have to be exact items, just wondering if I can put one together for about 1k.

Is Rockford a "brandname" in the car stereo business and are they durable? Also, thanks so much.

Well less that 1000 dollars is a lot to spend on a car audio system. You can do a whole lot with that amount of money. May I suggest a good starting point would be going to www.crutchfield.com. There prices are a little higher than say ebay, but there customer service cant be beat.

those T1 subs are amazing. I have 2 of them in my car and it sounds amazing. That rockford amp probably would even be enough power to make it fart. You are gonna need way more power than that to make that sub move. Jl 500/1 would be a pewrfect match for that sub because it is actually rated at around 712 RMS.

crutchfield is a great way to go...as vt said, their customer service is unbelievable. Their prices aren't too out of line. if you going to order a new headunit, that is the place to get it from because all that extra b/s (wiring harness, bracket, etc) is all free.
