Rear view mirror

so, i went to my car today and my rearview mirror fell off, no big deal, ill just use some adhesive or something to put it back on, but my question is, do i need to take off the old glue/plastic left behind on the windshield and how would i take it off, doesnt seem to pull off easily, or can i just add more adhesive over it and have it stick down more?

lol i posted about this like a month ago.

you have to remove the old adhesive. use a razor blade to scrape it off. make sure you buy the kind meant for the purpose, any auto parts place should have it. i think i bought mine at walmart.

also, the search button is your friend, my thread is on page 2 of this section of the forum....
