BRAKE KIT
I am considering the 12" front conversion kit that is $899. I just wanted to see if anyone here has used them or if anyone has anything to say about them at all.

well the problem with the baer kit is that you need 17" rims for it to fit. Ive contacted rsm and this kit is designed for the stock 16" rims. I myself would much rather have the baer kit but do not have the funds right now to upgrade to 17" wheels.

What about RSM's slotted rotors and ceramic pads rather than outlaying a ton of cash? You may be pleasantly surprised with the stopping power. If not call them and see if they offer other alternatives (not on their website). I'm going into the Canadian RSM Racing location tomorrow (for some strut work) and i'll see what else is available.

I am also interested in this kit, dose the kit include everything when doing the rears, to install if you have drums or is it neccicary to get all the parts from a rear disk alero?

Nelson at Toronto's RSM Racing told me that PVR makes their calipers and he said if you look on the back of a Baer caliper you will find PVR stamped on the back. Apparently PVR makes Baer's calipers and then Baer machines the front and etches their name on it and paints it fancy. RSM Racing has a no nonsense approach - best bang for your buck.
rear drum to rear disk - better call - I have no idea

Actually, it's PBR, and they come from Australia. Incidentally, stock calipers are also made by PBR. And, you can get a 12" front kit from Baer for about $100 less than RSM.

How come rsm claims there 12" brake kit will work with 16" wheels and baer's 12" kit needs 17" wheels?
...i myself would rather have the baer kit (due to the positive feedback you all have had) but I need brakes asap and dont have enough $$$ for 17" wheels at the moment.

sorry bout my b's and v's - If you can get baer cheaper get em as they are prolly the same caliper as rsm. If you can't cuz of size issues then either shop around or rsm may be your daddy.

Truthfully, I think Baer is just covering their butt - mostly because aftermarket wheels usually have less offset and/or more spoke clearance. I'm sure both 12" kits will work with 16" wheels, but not necessarily stock wheels. If you had 16" wheels with less offset or thinner spokes, I'm sure they'd fit.
