Tint in heated rear windows?
Has anybody ever put tint in heated rear windows? I want to put about 5% in the rear and i'm wondering if it will burn out the window heater (that would SUCK, especially up here in ND.)

it wont do anything...might have a negative effect on your radio reception, but that would be about it....otherwise, we all have heated rear windows and alot of us have tint and have never had an issue....

Did nothing to my old alero. Just if you want to peel it off becareful you don't take the defroster strips with it. Seen it done, and rear windows are expensive

Maybe they messed up the antenna when they did the tint. You shouldn't have lost radio reception because of tint.

I got 15% on my back window and everything is ok, the tint doesnt even touch the antennas.....so i dont understand why some peoples dont work. I went to a good place to get it done though, where they know what they are doing.

15% all around here, and it's fine.
Sometimes it helps it work better

They said that because of the aluminum foil in the tint it ruins the reception of the antenna built into the windshield, probably bs but whatever i listen to CDs anyway.

rear
The rear etching for heaters and radio reception is TERRIBLY easy to fix in a few ways..
If nicked.. or cut somehow.. go to an electronics shop and buy high resist etching, comes in a pen, or sometimes a tiny tiny can of paint.. I recommend the paint type..
Once you are ready to fix the nick.. scratch each side of the line etching with a razor/x-acto blade.. then paint in the missing part
If your up here in Canader..
Goto canadian tire.. they sell a rear window defrost fix kits.. which is basically the same as above..
OR!
But a good antenna pre-amp, and hook it up, they work well, and good ones are amazing, like night and day...
Failing all that.. get some sat radio...
Failing that.. take up the guitar..
