Anybody ever heard of these guys?
http://www.westerscustomtuning.com/19.php
if you look there, the alero is listed with option to reprogram pcm...2.2L and 2.4L...at $495, would it be worth it?

Maybe, depending on what can be reprogrammed. But I think it would be more worth getting the HPTuners sotware instead, that way you pay once and can tune multiple times instead of pay once tune once. Plus, if they were to tune it, I'm guessing you'd have to tell then what you want and what you have done to the engine already. They'd only be able to get close to a good tune just having the PCM and not tuning on a dyno or at least in the car on the road. With the HPTuners, you can go to a dyno or make a couple runs on the road and tune exactly what you need into the PCM, as well as make changes whenever you change the engine setup.

Exactly. You'd have to send it back and then wait for them to program it and send it back to you again. Too much down time when you could just plug in HPTuners, program what you need, and drive away.
