Mixed subs in separate boxes?
I've got 2 12'' Visonik subs in a dualbandpass box right now. My friend may be getting rid of his system which has 4 MTX Thunder4500 12'' subs. I'm thinking about buying it. What I'm wondering about is if I was able to fit maybe 2 smaller boxes along with my visoniks in my trunk will it sound ok? I'd probably have 2 sealed single 12" boxes along with a big bandpass dual 12" box. I'm really more interested in loudness and not bass for things like rock, since I only listen to the subs with rap and such.
Or would the 2 different sub/box types mix soundwaves and sound like shit?

^^^ wrong.
but its gonna sound like crap more than likely.
if you want more loudness..... get some better subs that can handle more wattage and a bigger amp rather than mixing stuff. you gonna be getting 2 different sounding basses from those different enclosures

How much cash you planning on dumpin on the other subs?
SweetNLow is right, Different types of enclosures will just end up canceling out sound waves and making everything just sound like butt... Loud... but like Butt

I have a bandpass box for my 2 12" polk Momo's. It sounds amazing. The bandpass does suck in a lot of air, but there is enough clearence and airflow in our trunks to were it will still sound good. Of course, this is only IMO. Im sure that sealed enclosures probably sound just as good, if not better, but the bandpass does work none the less....

Well I'm not really sure. I'm basically am just planning to roll along and wait till random good deals come around. Not really planning on a set amount or searching things out.
And loud is what I want.. sometimes, I dunno about some of you but there's time when I just like playing rap music loud and obnoxiously just to see how many people give me bad looks (not many with my setup, it's not the loudest). Then there's the other times when the bass get's turned down to sound good with the music. All depends. Perhaps dual switches for the remote turn ons for the amps, one for MTXs and one for Visoniks (assuming I dump cash on that stuff).
