Rear Speakers Not Working

I just purchased a '00 GLS and noticed that the rear speakers weren't functioning. I checked the wiring on the 6x9s and they all looked fine. I even took the rear deck out to locate the rear amp, but couldn't find it.
Any ideas where else to look?

if you're looking for the factory amp, its on the left side of the trunk behind the carpet mounted to the side...now i'm talking drivers side when i say left

Thanks. The fader was the first thing I checked. I have a feeling it's the rear power amp. I'll let you know what I find.
