Hey guys, i have a chance at a c/f hood, but i'm not sure how it will look.

u guys know what my car loox like, whadda u think.

aside from looks it would be sweet to save some weight at the track, since i am still building my engine up and plan to hit the track alot again this year.

BTW its just the skin, so i would have to use 4 hood pins for it, if that makes any difference

Look at 99alero boy cardomain, I posted it here, hope you don't mind, there is a pic of his black alero w/ the carbon fiber hood, I don't think it goes well on black but that's just me.

IMO...the CF hood on a black car takes away from the car, not enhancing the looks

Is it me, or do they not look like they fit all that great? It looks like the curve in the fender is higher than the curve of the hood, making it line up funny.

Well on a black car you won't be able to see it that much.

But Ski, is someone making it or is it a used one??????

If someone is making it, then get it so that way we have someone making them again.

Those hoods make it look like you got a new hood from the wrecker's and have only had a chance to repaint it with grey primer. I think the only way one of those might look good is with a C/F body.

i disagree, i like how a carbon fiber hood looks on a black car. there are some fitment issues, however. hit me up with a pm or on aim and we can talk more about it.

IMO, find OTHER ways to lighten your ride. On a black ride, this mod would be"all" go, "NO" show

Just because stupid ricers with carbon fiber hoods don't paint it to "show it off", doesnt mean you can't paint the damn thing. It's supposed to be a "performance"-oriented part, since it removes a fair bit of weight off the highest point at the front of your car..

I guess I shouldn't have assumed that it wouldn't be painted to match the car. But if it was painted to match then wouldn't it look like a regular hood?

Well, yeah, but it will be a hood that will drop his E.T.s a little lower. A CF hood just doesn't compliment a black car

There is no arguing the fact that it's a good weight loss plan (even tho this one is high carb, sorry Atkin), but that's not what he is asking. Judging from option #2 in the poll ("No, there is no need for that, ur car is black and it won't stand out"), I don't think he intends to change the look from a standard C/F hood.

i think no...now if they could get you a hood with the inner liner, and perhaps the evo 8 style heat extractors...hell id be first in line for that, but just a plain hood id say no, plus the 4 hood pins will look outta place too
