HID help... FAST!

I was considering HID a while ago, and now that my friggen headlight wiring harnesses are completely melted to SH*T (stupid rice bulbs...) I need to make a quick decision so i can drive my car at night again soon issed:

Anyone that has them.. would you recomend them? and some good kits?

I'm looking for bluish tinged preferably, would this be about 5000K?

I have the 7000k 9006 (low-beams) and mine are kinda bluish from far away, but still hella white upclose, but you cannot see the color when you are driving. The color/sparkle you see from mercedes, s2000 and audi is from the projectors. Which nobody makes for our cars unless you get custom work $$$. These cost me $385 and was only a 2 snap hook up, extremely easy install. Get the brightest ones you can, i believe they carry 5200k lumens for their brightest, thats what you want. Don't be fooled, all the expensive luxury cars use 4000k lumens with projectors, thats why they're so expensive and look so great. These are real HIDs don't get me wrong, they just raised the lumens for more color without projectors, but if you did happen to buy this conversion with projectors if you didn't own an alero, your lights would be hella colorful. Get the brighest you can, the brighter the road the better. I love my HIDs and will never go back to halogen, always a show stopper. Especially when they warm out, a nice purple to blue to white color lights up in front of the car. Check my Cardomain for pics, you'll see what i mean. Definitely worth the money, get um man. These things are 100x better then stock, hella brighter, driving at night is like driving at day and all my passengers say that too, and anyone on here that has them can vouch.

I was looking into philips 6000K, you think that would be a decent color choice?

HIGHER LUMENS = BRIGHTER LIGHT
HIGHER COLOR TEMPERATURE = LESS BRIGHTNESS, MORE COLOR

You don't see the color from inside you car on the road, and you will not get that cool sparkle or extreme purple/blue like the honda s2000, mercedes and all those luxury cars because they have projectors. Forget about the color, just get the brightest you can, thats whats important. Projectors make the color, we don't have them hence you wont see much color. Everyone thinks this who bought HIDs, get the brightest you possibly can. Don't worry about the color.

Ask anyone, just get the brightest ones, HIGHEST LUMENS, LOW COLOR TEMPERATURE. You'll be happy, trust me.

Phillips kits are really good... and I've heard good things about Katz (or something like that). Phillips made the first arclights, so they have the most experience and time to work out bugs. The Mr. Jung kit uses hella ballasts (great) but poopty bulbs.

ummmm.....I'm pretty sure more lumens means brighter, you're thinking of color temperature, lower is generally brighter

4100k is whats on the bmw's with the projector lens. That purple flicker effect is only that projector and has nothing to do with the luminen of the bulb at all.

but yes its been proven trhat 4100k bulbs are the brightest you will find for hid lighting, considering this is whats factory on audi's and everything else.

yeah, this kit uses both philips bulbs and ballasts, and I think I heard something about hella making the balasts for philips anyways. I had gotten a 6000K kit (2400 lumens) but now changed my order to a 4100K kit (3200 lumens).

There are sites out there that will do custom work for you, and i believe someone on here has installed projectors. Lots of work though. I've thought about it but its too much work, i don't have the time.

Yes, you'll see lots of people on ebay advertising that the higher the color temperature the brighter, but that is not the case. like i stated and silent stated, the luxury cars with HIDs use 4100k-4200k, but the color is from the projectors, you see the color when the light refracts, like the prism effect.
