storing tires

hey guys, i just took off my rims for the winter, this will be that last winter my car goes through because as soon as it ends the kits going on, so im wondering when storing tires and rims is there anything i should do? ive cleaned them and im going to polish them and put some tire shine on them, should i let the air out or anything?. thanks.

Store flat... air out wont hurt..

if rubber off.. clean seal bead...

when i store mine i just lay them flat and stack them on top of each other to avoid flat spots in the tread. i have done this for 2 years and havent had any issues with either set (stock package and chrome 18" package).

If you have dogs cover them up so they don't piss all over them. Their piss is like acid rain and will screw up your tires, look what it does to your lawn.

You can pick up a "tire Bag" too from Tirerack. I just got my catalog today and it's in there for $50, but I have such little room to store them to begin with.

I have 5 stockers and I can't stack them up 5 high in the corner becuase of the pipes to the heater.

I just stack them up in the garage. Clean the rims so they don't sit there and rust all winter. It is a good idea to cover them, because ozone is what eats and your rubber and dry rots it. But I never bother. Discount tire has huge ass plastic bags if you want to but you're cheap though. They'll just give 'em to you if you ask nice. They always put my wheels/tires in bags when I get them changed and they're dirty.

i store my rims in the winter. i just leave them inflated and stack them up on top of eachother with a towel between each wheel and also if the rims are chrome and you put them in the garage or basement get them up off the floor. either on blocks or wood and wrap them in plastic. if on concrete they will draw moisture and could rust or pit.

actually dog urine, like most all urine contains high levels of nitrogen which is why the overconcentration of it in contained spots results in your burned out lawn. It's essentially putting too much fertilizer in one spot.

Urines actually a base, like ammonia, not an acid. Urine is a great source for paint thinner if you are desperate and actually could be used to clean your wheels. Acid, furthermore, is good for cleaning your tires or whitewalls. It's what we use at the car wash.
